Small Magnitude 4.3 Earthquake Hits Maricopa, West Kern County, Cuyama Valley
Maricopa Business Manager Belena MacCallum Describes Event, No Damages or Injuries reported

A 4.3 Magnitude earthquake struck near the city of Maricopa at about 12:33 p.m. Saturday.
The quake was centered 9 miles east of Maricopa at a depth of 8.5 miles below surface, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.
Larry Hogan, of Ventucopa in far eastern Santa Barbara County said that he felt the quake which jolted his Sagebrush Annie's restaurant.
"The building jolted suddenly and the ground began moving," said Hogan who was at his restaurant when the quake hit.
Belena MacCallum, Manager of the Maricopa Shell Gas Station said that she was standing outside the building when she felt a strong jolt and the ground shook for a few moments.
"The ground started shaking and then the building started shaking, and the ground really starting shaking," said MacCallum.
Taft Mayor Dave Noerr said he felt a sharp jolt and went outside to see what happened.
"There was a very sharp, quick jolt, which made me ran outside to see if something hit the house," said Noerr.
