Taft City Council Meets Tuesday Evening, Downtown Zoning Changes, Annexation, Thompson Censure on Agenda
Censure Resolution May Be Postponed Until April 6th Meeting
March 15, 2010
The Taft City Council will meet on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. and review rezoning of the downtown area of Taft that was approved by the Taft Planning Commission, and look at annexation of county lands into the city. A proposed censure resolution of Councilman Cliff Thompson is also on the agenda, but with a note to postpone the item until the April 6th meeting.
The annexation study concerns land in and around the Westside Believers Church, Wood Street and Highway 119, and land adjacent to Ash and Cedar Streets on the east side of Highway 119.
The council will hold a closed session meeting following the regular agenda to discuss negotiations of property identified as Vista Grande Oil Property, to discuss the purchase of a home owned by the city by City Manager Bob Gorson, to discuss the Union Pacific Property, and to discuss a parcel of land on the railroad property located at 201 Supply Row, where the Sunset Antiques building is located.
