Taft Mayor Calls Special Closed Session Meeting Tuesday at 5 p.m. To Discuss Hostile Work Environment
Council To Discuss Potential Claims of Hostile Work Environment With Legal Council

Taft Mayor Dave Noerr has called a special closed session of the Taft City Council on Tuesday, March 2nd at 5 p.m. to discuss potential claims against the city concerning a hostile work environment.
The Council hired a law firm in December to investigate employee claims of a hostile work environment.
City employees have complained that Taft City Councilman Cliff Thompson had been creating a hostile work environment at City Hall.
At a news conference on Thursday, February 18th, City Manager Bob Gorson had stated that city employees had felt threatened by Councilman Cliff Thompson, had caused stress among employees.
The regular Taft City Council meeting will be held at 7 p.m. following the closed session meeting.
The meeting notice, which is closed to the public, said that the meeting, "shall be held to hold a closed session pursuant to Government Code Section 54956.9(b)(1)(B) to confer with legal Counsel to discuss facts and circumstances regarding potential claims for Hostile Work Environment."
