The Taft District Chamber of Commerce held its Annual Membership and Installation Dinner on Thursday, February 4th celebrating its 100th Birthday. Founded in 1910, the Chamber was Taft's first form of local government. The Taft Chamber petitioned Kern County to incorporate the City of Taft which the voters did on November 7, 1910. The guest speaker was George Martin, organizer of the Bakersfield Economic Conference held this October.
