Leaves in the Fall playing at Rockin’ Roots
May 29, 2009
Local rock band Leaves in the Fall will be sharing the stage with nationally known acts Taking Back Sunday, Anberlin and Saosin on June 7th in Bakersfield. The yearly Festival known as Rockin' Roots will be held at Stramler Park and will feature 100 bands on 9 stages. Rockin' Roots not only attracts Major Label bands but will feature some of the best talent in the San Joaquin Valley.
Leaves in the Fall has been hailed by many as "the best new band to come out of Bakersfield" and their following continues to grow after each live show. With only being together for just under a year they have caught the eyes of major and indie labels alike. They currently have a 13 track album "An Anitdote For Getting Home" which was self produced and released independently in December of 2008. They are in the process of recording their upcoming release which will be self-titled and should be released by summer. LITF believes in giving away their music at no charge so all of their cds are free. For more info on getting their music and other merchandise visit www.myspace.com/leavesinthefall.
While Rockin' Roots is just a few weeks away, the band still has tickets available. Presale tickets are $25 and they can be purchased through the band at their website. They will be playing a free show at The Oasis on Friday May 29th with the cover band Eleven so be sure to come check them out. Along with LITF playing Rockin' Roots, local Taft bands Along Came a Spider and Dawn Defeo will also be hitting the stage. Please come out and support your local music scene and we hope to see you all on June 7th at Stramler Park in Bakersfield. This is an all ages event with gates opening at 11 am and is sponsored by Haddad Dodge, KRAB Radio and Walker-Lewis Rents.
